Because a church is growing in numbers does it relate that it is healthy?
I dont think so.
But what does healthy mean?
If a flower is growing we can tell it is healthy by the life it is exibiting. I would argue that if the soil is good for the plant then you will very likely discover many plants in that area, all growing well.
In the book 'The Healthy Churches' Handbook by Robert Warren. I found this statement about a group of churches that were considered as healthy 'what they were doing was taking their faith seriously and seeking to be church to the very best of their ability.'p14
Here I have very slightly remashed a statement following the one just given above. I consider a healthy church to be one which reflects something of the 'good news' of the 'wholeness' made possible through the knowledge of God as 'revealed' in Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
